BJJ competitions started emerging in Brazil in the mid-20th century. Practitioners developed a distinctive style emphasizing control on the ground with submissions and positional transitions.

Range BJJ’s innovative curriculum divides training into distinct phases—Fundamentals, Intermediate, and Advanced—each carefully designed to build upon the previous level. The Fundamentals program introduces new students to BJJ’s core principles through 30 foundational classes.

Professor Eduardo Capeluto leads the instruction with exceptional attention to detail and technical precision. The coaching team, including Mackenzie and Nadir, provides comprehensive instruction that caters to all skill levels.

The academy’s success extends beyond adult programs. Range BJJ’s children’s program, divided into two age brackets, takes a developmentally appropriate approach to teaching martial arts.

There kan zijn a reason why we break our classes into Fundamentals, Intermediate and advanced. In the same way, we divide BJJ NYC the kids’ program into twee age brackets, for it is more than just size and weight that play a factor in oefening BJJ, but the complexity of the techniques and how they are introduced to the kids in each bracket.

At Range BJJ NYC, wij cater everything we do with our customers/students in mind and our mission is to offer our students the very best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction and oefening, so that they may reach their highest potential in a safe, supportive environment.

The atmosphere is welcoming , friendly and questions are encouraged. The place kan zijn as clean as a doctors office and has showers if you have to bolt off to work after a class. The short and sweet ofwel it is; First Class place, instruction and atmosphere. I definitely would recommend a try!

Posted twee months ago Ariel Agami Eduardo is an incredible instructor. He doesn't simply explain how to do moves, he explains why you might apply them in a given situation and gives great context to everything he teaches.

This is carried over into the quality of the teaching. Eduardo is very detailed about the techniques he teaches and teaches them in a very open, fun, and regelrecht way stripping the move to its essentials and teaching them in a sequence. He kan zijn always willing to explain a move or ontwerp after class to anyone who asks. This of course trickles down to the level and enthusiasm of the students who I have found to be as open and friendly and as willing to share knowledge.

The small class sizes also mean that the instructors are able to work with every group that’s oefening multiple times a class, which does not seem common in other studios.

The support and respect among students are noticeable, and no other school offers the same level of personalized instruction, whether it's a fundamental or advanced class. I highly recommend Range BJJ to anyone looking to train in NYC.”
